“What began as a passion for driving my Miata has evolved into something more. I’m proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. "
“I wanted to create the kind of road trip I would genuinely want to book myself.”
Hi, I’m Will, founder of Miata Road Trips.
I’ve been in business for more than 20 years and have spent the last few years creating, organising and refining driving holidays. Miata Road Trips came about after I bought a Miata myself and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to combine that enthusiasm with the experience I already had in business, travel and planning great road trips.
The idea is simple: create carefully planned, done-for-you driving holidays for people who love Miatas and want to experience some of the best roads, scenery and places Britain has to offer.
That means much more than choosing a route and booking a few hotels. Over the years, I’ve learnt that the best trips come from getting the whole journey right - the roads, the daily distances, the hotels, the stops, the experiences and the small details that make everything feel easy once you arrive.
Every route, hotel and recommended stop is chosen with that in mind, using the knowledge I’ve built up from years of travelling, organising driving holidays and listening to what guests really value.
Miata Road Trips is a small, independent, family-run specialist business, and I want it to feel personal. My aim is to take away the hard work of planning and give you a trip that is exciting, well thought out and full of the kind of experiences and memories you will still be talking about years later.
For our friends in the USA and Canada, it is also a chance to combine two passions in one trip: travelling somewhere completely different, while still getting to enjoy the simple pleasure of driving a Miata.

I’m Will, founder of Miata Road Trips. I’ve been in business for more than 20 years and have built and worked across a number of different businesses, including extensive experience creating and organising driving holidays.

It started after I bought a Miata myself. I enjoyed the car so much that I wanted to find a way to combine that enthusiasm with the work and experience I already had in travel, business and driving holidays.

Because they are fun, engaging little sports cars with a passionate community behind them. For me, a Miata makes the journey part of the holiday rather than simply the way you get from one place to another.

There is a huge Miata community across North America, and many people there also have a real desire to travel overseas. I wanted to bring those two passions together - travelling through Britain while still enjoying the experience of driving a Miata.

I've been in business for more than 20 years, and for the last three years I've been designing, organising and running self-drive holidays. I also helped set up a MINI specialist tour company, where I remain an integral part of the team, planning and running self-drive holidays and group tours that consistently earn five-star reviews. Many of those clients have become good friends along the way, trips built on trust as much as good planning.
That experience, planning routes, choosing hotels, managing the small details that make a trip feel effortless, is exactly what I've brought into building Miata Roadtrips UK.

Anyone can book a car, choose some hotels and draw a route on a map. The difference is in putting everything together properly.
I look at the whole journey - the roads, distances, hotels, stops, attractions, timings and how each day flows. The aim is to remove the hard work of research and planning and give you a properly thought-out, done-for-you experience.

They are based on my own travel experience and years of creating and organising driving holidays. I don’t look at each part in isolation. A great hotel in the wrong location, for example, may not make a great road trip.
Everything needs to work together as part of the overall journey.

For me, the holiday is much more than the days spent driving.
It starts with the information you receive before you travel and continues through your arrival, the Miata, the accommodation, the route, your daily stops and the way the whole experience fits together.
Years of working with travelling clients have taught me that the small details can make a very big difference.

Miata Road Trips is a small, independent, family-run specialist business.
That allows me to keep things personal and concentrate on creating carefully planned road trips rather than generic, mass-market holidays.

I want to create the kind of trip that becomes one of those holidays you still talk about years later.
Great driving is obviously a big part of it, but so are the places you discover, the people you meet and the memories you take home with you.
